From Idea to a Working App in 24 Hours

Reading time: Article 2 minutes / Case study 4 minutes

Event technology should make experiences smarter, faster and more engaging – not add unnecessary complexity.

For one of our event activations, we created a custom quiz app that went from brief to working prototype in just 24 hours. No installation, no third-party branding and full control over the campaign’s visual identity.

When off-the-shelf tools are not enough

Platforms such as Slido or Kahoot can work well for standard event formats. But when a brand needs custom functionality, a fully branded experience or real-time interaction, generic tools quickly reach their limits.

The client needed an app that could be accessed instantly via QR code, work without installation, go beyond standard quiz functionality and support both individual and shared real-time play.

One app. Two experiences.

The same system supported two different event scenarios.

In the expo zone, participants could play an individual quiz directly on their phones. On stage, the app became a live team competition, with the host controlling the pace and live standings projected on the main screen.

The entire player journey ran in a mobile browser – from joining via QR code to live scoring and the final winner announcement. Every interaction was designed within the campaign’s visual identity.

AI as a tool, not the goal

Instead of lengthy outsourcing, we used rapid in-house development supported by AI tools.

The important part was not simply using AI. It was knowing where and how to use it strategically – from needs analysis and rapid prototyping to building a reliable real-time experience.

The result?

24 h – working prototype
2 modes – offline + real-time
QR – no installation
100% – campaign visual identity
0 – external developers
from EUR 1,000 – depending on scope and number of participants

The right technology can make an event faster, simpler and more engaging – while giving brands more freedom to create experiences that truly fit their needs.
